In case you missed us at the Texas Charter School Conference, here is what your school board needs to know about adopting their newly required student goal plans:

  • Charter school boards must adopt two separate plans:
    • (1) An early education student goal plan, and
    • (2) A college, career, and military readiness student goal plan
  • Student goals must be based on the Texas A-F School District & School Accountability System, closing the gaps, Domain III, data (see: txschools.org), and
  • Student goals must be SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, result-focused, and time-bound).
